Scuba Junkie SEAS is the dedicated conservation arm of the award-winning 5* PADI dive centre, Scuba Junkie. Conservation of the local environment, both above and below the waves, has been at the heart of Scuba Junkie’s ethos from inception and that led to the establishment of SJ SEAS in 2009. The original focus was to obtain better protection for sharks and rays in the Semporna region, but our conservation portfolio has diversified as the organisation has grown. Our work is currently divided into six major programmes (eco-resort, shark conservation, turtle conservation, coral conservation, tackling marine debris & outreach activities).
We are proud to have an extensive portfolio of conservation programmes in place. A lot of hard work has gone into getting to where we are today and it will take a lot more hard work to keep it going, but hopefully through the collaborative work of passionate individuals we can make a difference to our beautiful oceans and the lives of those that rely on them.
